Stash Bash

I’ve never met a crafter without a stash of some kind. This year my goal is to use up all the craft supplies I have spent money on that are taking up mental and physical space in my life.  Join me here every Thursday for a Stash Bash.

I don’t want to jinx it but I woke up super late as you can tell and feeling like today may be the day or otherwise I am getting very close.  So much to finish up around here still.   I am shelving my need for perfection and letting go of whatever does not get done in time.

Yesterday, Alexandra had her dress fitting and Poppa did not let me go to see her because it was an hour away.  I did get to see the pictures and in a way I am glad I was not there in person.  Even looking at the pictures made me very emotional…my baby is a grown woman and seeing her in the finished dress really brought that home.

I did get the rocking chair in the nursery re-re-recovered since my poor Pottery Barn rocking chair has now been through half a dozen babies.  I also got the last bit of crucial sewing done.  I was in desperate need of some new wipes so I sewed about 3 dozen and that should be enough to get me through potty training.  I used up the last bit of super thick organic diaper flannel I bought about 5 years ago through a coop.  I love how this flannel fluffs up in the wash.

For the other 2 dozen I just used whatever flannel spoke to me from my stash and sewed them double thickness.  Since I broke the needle to my Kenmore surger (and refused to pay $14 for a new one from Sears) I just put the two wrong sides together and zigzagged around each pair.  This way they will only fray a little bit the first few times they are washed and you can get a bunch of wiped done in no time.

I am thinking that I should post a tutorial along with my wipes solution that I keep in a squeeze bottle for diaper changes.  What do you all think?

So what have you been up to? I love to see what you come up with. I have added the Mr Linky to the bottom of this post for you to link up your Stash Bash projects.

Here’s what to do. There are no rules.
Just use what you have and try to not buy new supplies, unless you need it to complete a project that you are making from stuff you already have in your stash.
Take a picture of your project or progress and blog about it or post a picture to flickr.
Then come back here on Thursdays and post a link to your post.
Don’t forget to link back to the Stash Bash so others can find us and get encouraged too.
Fair enough?

P.S.  Its so nice to hear from other stash bashers so if you visit some of the links don’t forget to leave them a quick little comment.
