Baby showers are funny things.  They are kind of like a party where you make a list of things you like and then you act surprised when you open your gifts as if you didn’t know what your friends and family would get you.  This is the reason Alex tells me she will only have one more shower with her next baby and only if it is a girl.  Don’t get me wrong, it is so helpful to receive so many blessings from others and I guess it makes life a whole lot easier for the gift giver to not have to try and guess what the expectant mother might like.

I did my part to buy as many of the registry items as possible but I ended up feeling like I needed to add something handmade and with so little time to make something I ended up adding this little embroidered burp cloth.  It went together in a jiffy and after a day of getting shower decorations together it was so nice to sit and do a teenie bit of hand embroidery.

I love that it matched the bunting and decorations from the shower.  Did you see the baby shower yesterday?  I hope you will visit.  Oh and I guess I just leaked the babies name hehe.

Update on the Cuppow drink lid giveaway!  The awesome guys at Cuppow have decided to give not just one Cuppow away but two and to two different winners!  Don’t forget to enter here.

Beautiful baby shower and a lovely gift. I think handmade gifts are the best! I did not have a shower for my second child since we already had so much of what we needed (since our first was a girl too) but I kind of wish I would've had some kind of celebration, maybe requesting no gifts or something. Just because it is about more than just a gift. It is a celebration of the little one to come, of the mommy and all the anticipation and joy. It is a lovely way to share that excitement and happiness with friends and family.

Your embroidery is beautiful! Did you freehand the letters or trace them first?

Rebecca, It is so much easier than it looks. I trace them on the fabric and then just follow the lines with needle and thread. Thank you for the compliment!
