It dawned on me this morning that Mother’s day is on my heels…..ackkkkk!!!! I didn’t totally forget you know, I have had a handmade gift planned for months and ordered what I will need but I stashed it away and just realized that yeah…it’s time to get to work!
Now, I can’t exactly share it with you until the big day is over because let me tell ya, my two mothers (both by birth and marriage) are big time visitors here (thanks moms!) I promise to show you what I made and how to make it next week OK?
Of course this started me thinking…what the heck do I want for Mothers Day? and then it hit me (that thing I call a memory actually kicked in) and guess what it isn’t even something handmade, gasp! Well its something from Anthropology. Need I say more. OK so now that you understand, here it is, actually here they are.
I must say I am totally smitten by this…dorky I know but I am a farm girl, what did you expect? This is also very practical. In my attempt to rid my life of supermarket foder I am confronted daily with where to put the eggs from our chickens. Styrofoam? cardboard? I think not! Want one? Check it out here.
this is a thing of perfect simplicity!! Don’t you think? Oh Anthropologie, why must you be so irresistable
Perfect for all of our produce, gosh I even have blueberries growing that could live in here (for 5 minutes before being eaten : ) So adorable! Think your momma would love this too, you can find it here
So whats on your wishlist? Here are some cute ideas on Etsy in case you need some inspiration.
doesn’t this card just sum it up? yup, it does for me.
my mom knows this already but it would be fun to remind her anyway. Find it on Etsy here
one last quick idea I found on this blog, the reluctant farmer. Any momma or grandmomma would love this.
So did you share what you made? Can't wait to see it! Love Anthropologie!
Oh this is a great idea…the LOVE photos…
Jen, Truly I would not be able to keep all of our eggs this way either but just one would fall under the category of something pretty for me. There is something about it that attracts me and I have enough space in my gynormous fridge. It would just cheer up my day to open the door and see the eggs in this cute crate, ya know ; ) Thanks for the comment, love comments, did I mention that I love it when you all comment lol
Like the stoneware egg crate – – but really??? We, too, have chickens (14 to be exact) and have saved egg cartons from the store before the chickens were laying, so we use those for now. Unfortunately, friends have also saved some for us – – which means we have a small backlog of cartons! God Bless!Jennifer
