It is officially cold, did you hear?  Yes, those of you dear readers who are surprised that we are cold, please remember that we have thin skin and are from the south…as south as you can get in these here United States.  I have gotten a few funny emails and comments from readers in disbelief over my request for silk underlayers and wool.  I assure you, we need it.  Our low tonight will be 28…that my friends is cold.

Yesterday we woke up to a frozen lawn and snow flurries.  They persisted all afternoon long.  We were unpacking the school boxes into our new school room when someone saw white stuff falling from the sky outside the window and that was the end of unpacking 🙂

To them it was miraculous though during the time of day I took pics, you could not see the flurries in the pictures.  They ran about, catching little bits of ice on their tongues until they were so cold, their fingers went numb.  We decided that it was time to learn how to use the wood stove.  Eddie, our appointed wood stove technician brought over a pile of wood from the shed and got to work.  Soon enough, we were all back to work in a nice warm room and now the playroom and school room is ready for use.

The lawn was frozen for most of the day and that rocking chair we were just sitting in a few days ago…covered in frost 🙂  We do get frost in our home in Central Florida but it lasts an hour not all day.  Fun and new.  Everything is fun and new to us and we are taking it all in.  Today we enjoy the fire and ice.

little off topic…are you still making the My little Saint dolls? (we had snow here last week in Kansas btw) I wish I lived in Florida, we go about every year for vacation. I can't imagine moving AWAY from there…I am sure it was hard! Florida is a beautiful place!

Shannon, I will be soon but also toying with the idea of selling the patterns so mommas can make some themselves…things to think about 🙂

This is fun! I love seeing the joy in your children's faces. Even while reading about your sadness in leaving Florida, I knew that you would have little delights like these to look forward to. I think you moved at a wonderful time, when the leaves are turning and just before some fun snowy weather. I live just a little north of you in Ohio, so I have been experiencing the same weather. It is cold for us too, even those born and raised here 🙂
