These days…My weekly journal

This week:

Erica taught Ronnie how to knit.

Had Krispy Kreme doughnuts.  Hot and so fluffy and I don’t care what is in them.  When I was in high school I had one every morning as soon as I got to school.  If you have a Krispy Kreme near you and you ever see the Hot doughnuts sign turn on, run don’t walk and you will never regret it.  This was a very special treat for me and it had been years.

Found Erica finishing up this amazing project all by herself.  She knit the letter E and had I known she was trying it I would have thought to teach her how to cast off and how to add more stitches but I guess she did not need my help. She is now making a bag to put her letter on.  I promise I have never taught her how to knit, just like I never taught her to crochet but she can do both very well.

Sat down and started planning a birthday party for Christopher the first week in August…the theme has been chosen and he made his list of invitees.  Oh, you want to come?  Sure, the more the merrier.

Had an impromtu visit from some of our best friends back home (those are sometimes the best kind)

Spent a lot of time day dreaming about the little bean kicking me from the inside and waking me at night.  Who is this baby of mine?  How much will our family change with this addition?  Will I be a good enough Momma for a new life who will need encouragement and nurturing?  How will I show the same amazement I showed my first babies when this little person shows me the thousanth butterfly found out in the garden…

Made a raspberry sauce to go over our ice cream

Dug into a huge bowl of bread dough with the help of old friends.  Can’t think of much nicer things than making bread with friends.

Did a dozen loads of laundry from our vacation

Went over all the pictures from our beach vacation

Dreamt and schemed on how to turn a little room next to my bathroom into a cozy little nook for baby bean

Had a night out with Poppa and some friends

Made some sour dough radish and parmesan pizzas which the kids have declared their all time favorite??  I was shocked since they are after all kids.  I had originally planned on tomato and fresh basil but someone used all my tomatoes and so I was rummaging through the refrigerator and remember how much they liked it when I roasted radishes so I cut them super thin and voila, a new favorite.

Had to deal with another broody hen.  She apparently got into a scuffle over not wanting to move from the favorite laying box of the other chickens.  We are now treating her boo boo with triple antibiotic ointment and have kicked her out of the coop during the day so she can get over herself.  I cannot allow her the fantasy of hatching eggs now that I have dispensed the rooster (did I forget to mention that?, I have pics but am still thinking if I should share them or not).

Planted some more sweet potato slips that had gotten way too big on the window sill (I hope the wild bunnies in the garden don’t find out)

Woke up almost every night with a pinched nerve in my lower back which makes me limp for a minute or two.

Sat down and almost cried in the jungle that used to be my garden and realized that somehow I have to get something done in there.

Sanded down the dining room table to get it ready for sale.  We have once again outgrown our table with only 8 chairs and 2 high chairs.  Since Christopher is big enough (as has been for some time) to sit at the big table, it’s time to scout out a new one.

Worked 2 days in the sewing room/playroom getting rid of stuff and destashing
