Happy Earth Day… Save the Humans

I love Earth Day but it really ticks me off when I see that some big box store who doesn’t give a darn about anything other than their bottom line, is making a big deal about Earth Day.  I think that those of us who are really green have been that way since before it was something to wear on your t-shirt.  If you are new to “being green” then that is great and really none of this is directed towards you, rather at the money making machine the environmental movement has become.

I think (and of course this is just my tiny, little opinion) that if you start with you, you can make a bigger difference to everyone else, including the planet, starting with what you put into you.  If you focus on that which nourishes you and your family, then the rest will follow.

OK enough with the speeches, this week I will be hosting Save the Humans!!!

Every day this week, I will post a way to green up our bodies, detoxify and clean up the pollutants that even newborn babies are born with these days because of the toxic world we live in.

In the next few days I will be blogging about the science experiments that live in my cupboards, kefir, kombucha and water kefir.  You will also find me blogging about one of my inspirations because of their self sufficiency.  I hope to host some other green mama bloggers and on Earth Day I will be having a give-away of your choice of milk kefir grains, water kefir grains or a kombucha scoby with instructions on how you can make them at home.  I will be posting the rules for the giveaway, in the meantime just make sure you visit me this week and as usual, I LOVE THE COMMENTS.
