Christmas Eve at Moss Flower

Christmas Eve here on Moss Flower is a busy, busy day. If you asked our neighbors they would probably tell you that we are a bit out there.  While the other farms around us are decorating their houses for Christmas, we celebrate the advent season and put up our tree and decorate the house on Christmas Eve.

This year all the kids were sick with fever and cough.  I spent a good part of the day sewing Christmas pinafores for the girls which they will probably end up using for New Years. We do not eat meat on Christmas Eve so our meal is always Salmon with lemon butter sauce, roasted asparagus and mashed potatoes with skin on.
The men folk decorated the house and the women folk cooked, cleaned and sewed. Then we decorated our free Christmas tree (another good thing about getting our tree the week of Christmas) and then got ready for midnight mass.  Merry Christmas everyone and may the newborn Christ find a comfortable place in your heart to reside.
