Valentines Day crochet heart headband pattern

Here is a quick project perfect for girls to wear everyday but most especially cute on Saint Valentines day.

yeah, I know these are a touch blurry but taking this picture was like hitting a moving target.  It took about 100 shots to get some this good (or bad, depending on how you see it)

You will need:
Red yarn (I used Patons wool)
Elastic headband (I used some F.O.E. (fold over elastic) since I have it and it is super soft on my babies head)
Size H crochet hook
Stitch marker to mark the first st in each row
Yarn needle to weave in your ends

Row 1: ch 2 leaving a few inches of a tail, 7 hdc in 2nd ch from hook, pull on the tail to close the hole
Row 2: sl st into 1st st, 5 hdc in next st, hdc in each of next 2 sts, hdc, ch 1, hdc in next, hdc in next st, 5 hdc in next st, sl st to first st or row.
Row 3: hdc in next st, 2 hdc in each of next 2 sts, hdc in next 4 sts, hdc, ch 1, hdc in next st (should be the ch 1 space from previous row making the bottom point of the heart), hdc in next 5 sts, 2 hdc in next 2 sts, hdc in last st, sl st into first st from previous row under (put your needle in the stitch directly under , see pic),

fasten off. Weave in your ends.

Sew your heart to your hair band.  Take a picture and share with us.
