Day five of year three
I hope you have all been having fun this week with me. Today’s guest is just as fun and if you love 100% wool felt then hold on to your chair. I have mentioned here before and if you look at alot of my projects you can figure out that I love, love, love working with felt. Once you work with wool felt you will never see the other felt the same way again. The feel of it, the beautiful colors and the ease of use will hook you. Even the newest crafter will have success.
The biggest question I get is where to buy it. If you start a search on google you will probably go hide under the bed. It is so hard to find a good source and when you find it the price is no fun. I am so glad that I have a source that is affordable, has all the colors you could ever want and fun to work with.
That is who my guest is today and I had originally promised that she would give away a 100% wool felt Color Story set of 3 sheets but she is now giving away a set of 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! woo-hoooooo!!! and I am sooo happy to share it with you. Did I mention she has every color you could think of?
Remember to enter, this is one I would love to win myself (but that would be cheating haha), rules are at the bottom of todays post and don’t forget to check out the last four days of guests and giveaways.
Here is today’s prize: 5 pure wool sheets of the Sailboat collection
and without further adieu:
Meet Janet from Felt on the Fly, this is what she said when I sent her the Q&A:
Uh oh…questions! About me?? Yikes. But, here goes:
Favorite blog: OhMy!Handmade www.ohmyhandmade.com/
I’m really bad at ‘following’ blogs, but when I stumble across one that’s particularly interesting, I’ll click on every associated link and it feels like taking a mystery trip. I never know where I’ll end up, I see some amazing things, meet some new people and always learn something along the way.
My Favorite Color: Well, just look at my shop! I love them all! It would be easier to tell you which color I *don’t* like. I *don’t* like burgundy. It really disturbs me. I don’t like to be anywhere near burgundy.
My first job: I don’t remember….can I tell you my favorite job? I worked during the holiday season years ago in Men’s Shirts and Ties at a brand new department store in a swanky mall. Oh my gosh…so much fun matching shirts and ties and suits – colors and textures and patterns! When guys come in to buy something, they keep it so simple. They come in. They buy. In ten minutes, they’re happy and they’re gone. Easy peasy! I learned that I could get along with *anybody* for ten minutes!!
Favorite guilty pleasure: I have a favorite ‘napping couch’ and like to spend time there for an hour or so a few afternoons a week!
The best advice I ever received: “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened”, Dr. Seuss. “Always have a can of WD-40”, my Grandpa.
I am inspired by: All things old. Things that, if they could talk, would have a story to tell. I am inspired by history, by the way things used to be done and by the people who did them. I am inspired by so many things that catch my eye because of their uniqueness. I am least inspired by that which is common, mass-produced or far removed from anything that exists in our natural world.
If I have an afternoon off I like to: browse with no regard for time. Antique shops, fabric shops, craft stores, book stores and more…I’m easily amused.
If I could only grab three things…my sewing basket. Purse. Does my dog count as a people?
Thank you Janet for being part of my blogiversary celebration. You are the best!

@ Jennifer, The "crunchy" comes from being an organic momma. We used to be labeled as granolas but crunchy is cuter. I know most people don't get it especially when I started calling myself that years ago but they are catching on.
I'm an official follower now. Thanks for the giveaway. Keep up with the great blog!!
Thanks for sharing a good felt source!
Just recently started making felt food – – notice that the wool felt is a little easier to work with and has a nicer feel to it. I was looking at the sidebars and will have to dig farther – – love some of the projects! I will definitely be following and looking for ideas here! God Bless!Jennifer F.***Love the name, but won't ask for the story!***
