One simple moment

Did you ever play dress up while your mom was busy and not paying attention?

Apparently, during my last sewing session, my two littlest ones did.

and I came out to find they had put on some nice duds and were dancing to Beethoven which the bigger girls like to blast on the little stereo upstairs much as any metal head would blast Metallica.  Livie was wearing one of the Dupioni silk skirts I made for one of her sisters a while back around her chest like a strapless dress with a sweater on top.

It was such a precious sight that I had to hold my mouth to not let one single sound escape while I asked Alex to run and get her camera.

For this one moment, they danced and regarded each other as brothers and sisters

fun in the sun…ice cream at Rita’s and a possible future felt bow tutorial

More touristy outings for us.  Today we ended up at Rita’s.  If you have never been to a Rita’s ice cream shop then I hope you will have the opportunity to go someday.  They sell italian ice and somehow they make them all taste rich and creamy…and I don’t want to know how they do it or what is in it : )  yep they are that good.

so excited for some mango ice
too many brothers and sisters trying to get my ice cream
 alone with my icy treat
summer sweets, an upcycled t-shirt bubble dress and a simple handmade hairbow
anybody want a tutorial on the felt hairbow?  If I get any requests I will teach you how to make it in 5 minutes.  So simple you can make one for every outfit. (Hint, now I will sit back and anxiously await your request while you click on the leave a comment button and tell me that you can’t go on unless I show you how to make it).
