Crochet flower face scrubby ( pattern )

Todays project is from a few years ago and I came across the picture Alex took in old picture files so here it is.  This is a super easy little project which started out as something completely different.  I had hoped to crochet about a hundred of these little flowers to put together as a bed spread for the girls room…maybe someday.  As a face scrubby they work up in about 5 to 10 minutes and work really nice to replace disposable paper or cotton alternatives.

Hook size H or I
Worsted weight cotton yarn

With the center color yarn make a magic ring (google it and you will find a bunch of tutorials.  Once you know how to do this you can use it for so many crochet projects)

Round 1: Chain 3 (does not count as a double crochet) crochet 20 dc in ring, slip stitch to first dc to join.

Round 2: switch to yarn color for petals, Chain 1, 1 sc in each st around, join to first sc.

Round 3: Chain 1, sc in same stitch. *skip next stitch, 7 dc in next stitch, skip next stitch, sc in next stitch* repeat between * and * 4 more times, 5 petals total. Join to first sc, weave in ends.

These make really cute hair jewelry and I have always wanted to add them as pockets to a baby’s dress.

Your doll is not only adorable, but FULL of Mommie love. Now what can top that? I just admire you for making such a heartfelt gift for your little one. I hope she will treasure it & one day it will become an heirloom to be shared with her little one. Our world needs more women like you…your example is truly inspiring. ~blessings Babadeedee (gramma in Japanese)
