Peepods Giveaway

It’s been such a long time since I have hosted a giveaway and now that we are all moved in, snug and cozy, it’s time.  Wouldn’t you agree?

I was contacted a few months ago by Peepods on doing a giveaway and review of these momma pads.  I have used my own homemade ones for years so it was exciting to receive real professionally made ones to try.  Well, best intentions you know,  my cycle took 10 months to return after having Matthew.  You can’t really do a review of something you haven’t tried and I wanted to be able to say if I really liked them or not.

First of all, they arrived super fast.  I mean like 5 days after I said yes and packaged in a very cute box.  I chose a cranberry set and the fabrics looked even better than in the picture.  They came with a small PlanetWise wetbag and every detail was perfect.  Then they sat and sat and sat in my medicine cabinet waiting for the day I would need them.  Well, as luck would have it, that time came while I was traveling home to see my parents.  Of course!

I have to say that I was a bit worried because they seem very thin compared to my own homemade version.  I decided to stay put the first time I used them and stayed close to my parents house.  Well, they work extremely well, better than well.  The snap kept everything in its place and after a while I forgot that I was nervous or that I was even wearing anything.  Not. Kidding.

If you have ever wanted to try cloth (and if you are like me and so many others, you may not want to go back to disposables) here is your chance.  Peepods is giving away a set to one lucky winner and a discount to any of you who wants to place an order.  If you need an incentive to support a company who offers a great, environmentally friendly product then here it is, they have a Pod for Pod promise.   For every set of pads they sell, they also donate a set to the women of Ethiopia.  Here is a video explaining more about the company.  Sorry, I haven’t figured out how to display videos yet 🙂

pants for a farm baby

Weeks ago I made pants for Matthew from a pair that Poppa broke through.  His pants were not repairable so I used the fabric to make a pair of church pants if you remember.  Well, I was cleaning up the sewing room and found what was left and it was so much fabric that I could not throw it out.  I made a pair of elastic waist pants for playing and crawling around.

I had a few blocks of farm fabric leftover from a quilt that I still have not finished and they made the perfect little pockets, in case Matthew wants to store the little things he finds in a place other than inside his diaper (does your baby mysteriously have things in his diaper at changing time).  I love them and now I want to make a pair for my other farm boys.

I love making these simple types of pants with elastic.  I think I shall call them Farmer Boy Pants.

I have my first giveaway here in my new home tomorrow!  Won’t you come back for a visit?
