Spring Cleaning Day 3, 2010

Much of today was devoted to cleaning out of the garage.  This is the hardest room to do because it is a catch-all.  We will soon be converting it into a more creative space including play area and homeschool room so this room needed to be cleared.  This Saturday we will also be emptying out the POD unit that is still in our driveway.   We discovered that we are in need of having a garage sale so that will be planned in a few weeks.

Stay tuned tomorrow when we pick the winner of the crocheted flower sewing pins.  I will post who the lucky person is.

Spring Cleaning Day 2, 2010

Today, we tackled the dining rooms, bathrooms and the garden.

The diningroom is still pretty bare since we packed it all up (and still have not unpacked) so there was not much to clean but the table was cleaned and polished.  The chairs upholstery was recently professionally cleaned as well as all the carpets so that was not necessary this year.  The high chairs looked clean but upon closer inspection were a little shop of horrors, ugh!!!  The stuff I found in the nook and crannies.  Note* Gotta deep clean those more often.

Bathrooms were scrubbed, disinfected and organized.  Momma and Poppa got new charcoal grey towels for their bathroom so the kids can tell the difference between our towels and everyone elses.  I have had such a long battle with our children and towels.  Picture this: The kids take our towels out of our bathroom, picture yourself coming out of the shower to find no towel on the bar and then screaming for 10 minutes for someone to hear you and come with a towel.  Not to mention finding that towel which you just washed in a crumpled pile somewhere.

We did some weeding in the garden (a never ending job)  mulched and moved plants around.    I love this time of year because little plants are popping up out of the ground and also because I love dirt : )  The grass was all mowed and trees and bushes were cleaned up after their winter browning.  The chicken coops were mucked and fresh litter added.

Poppa made some wonderful whole wheat wraps filled with ground chicken, and sauteed mushrooms, squash and zuchini.  Yum!!  I am blessed with a very good cook for a husband.

Tomorrow is another day.
