My 39th Year

Ok so I will cut to the chase!  Today is my birthday.  In our house, on your birthday you need do nothing.  You are the king or queen of the day.  It’s my favorite day.

Today started with my beautiful treasures making Momma some beautiful crepes from a recipe they found in the Organic Family Cookbook.  They came out more as crepes than pancakes but were absolutely delicious, except that I ate bacon not remembering that today is in fact Friday.

I pile of homemade cards is now sitting on my mantle and they are so sweet and some pretty funny.

this is Christopher spilling the mustard??  pretty funny thing to put on my card

I will be going out with Poppa tonight and leaving Lewis and Alexandra in charge of the crew.  This will be the first time I leave Matthew and am hopeful that he will drink breastmilk from a bottle which he has never ever seen before.  I know I should have tried it out firsthand but will be doing so before we leave tonight.  I have one baby bottle which I received in the mail will pregnant and put away in case something like this should show up.  A few of my babies upon being given a bottle instead of a breast highly protested and some gagged quite awfully so please say a little prayer for me?

I was given concert tickets on Christmas by Alexandra and Lewis and it happens to be to one of my favorite musicians and on my birthday.  Coincidence???  No, I don’t think so and I am beyond excited to go and see Natalie Merchant that I barely slept last night as all her songs passed through my brain all night.

So I will start my 39th year with the soundtrack of my 20’s and that to me is magical…

Oh and this year will be the second time I turn 39 : )  shhhh don’t tell !

I took a blog vacation

I’m back from my on purpose by mistake blog vacation.  Do you ever have so much to do that you can’t do anything?  Well, that would account for the first week of my disappearing act. The other 10 days that I disappeared were the mistake part.  One of my children spilled a cup of  juice on my laptop keyboard while I took a much needed nap.  I woke up to a very sorry, very tearful child who had convinced himself that he was living his last day on Earth after his confession of the spill.  I am not going to say that I was not upset but I did my best to show him that our relationships with each other are definitely more important than a laptop. Once he was convinced of my continuing love for him, I went into another room and cried (a little, not a lot). Yesterday a friend came to visit and took my laptop apart, cleaned it up and here I am again.  There are still some keys which are tempermental but its workable.  Keep reading….the next three posts are all crafts I did for our annual 4th celebration but are usable for any party.
