back to the stripes

Now that the blog move is done,  I am putting my nervous energy back into my knitting.  If you remember this sunsuit I have been making for Livie since last summer, you know that I need to get moving on it.  I have  a few baby showers coming up and our first grandchild due in just 9 weeks and that is taking up my knitting time lately but I know all too well that summer waits for no one so I pulled the sunsuit out of my knitting basket and am working on it every chance I get, which has not been enough to make much difference  but I must push onward.

This is my first Yarn Along with Ginny in my new home (blog) here.  You have no idea how happy I am to have gotten so many emails and comments yesterday letting me know that you all have been here with me all along but you just couldn’t ever comment 🙂  that makes this momma heart so happy.

I need to put aside the nagging little voice telling me that I have work outside to do.  I really dislike working outside in Florida summers and indeed the weeds know it and are taking over.  For today, I will enjoy the air conditioning and work inside.  Oh the laundry is calling me too.

moving day

Tomorrow is the big day.  Don’t worry, we aren’t leaving the farm but we are leaving Blogger behind for greener pastures.  I am not sure what to expect tomorrow but I can tell you to expect a new name, a new hosting site and hopefully a better visiting experience.

We like to make sure our homestead is neat and tidy when visitors come over.  You know, no dirty finger prints on the windows, no splatters on the stove and a nicely swept porch but tomorrow there may be a mess around here and I hope you will wait around while we get back to normal.

For those of you who do not like change, I am sorry 🙁  but I have had so many problems with this blog in the last year (such as not allowing me to upload all the pictures I intended for this post) and it hurts me to receive so many emails from some of you letting me know that my blog crashes or you cannot leave me a comment so…. no more!  You deserve better and so do I!

Think of it as we are moving out of a termite ridden, leaky roof, no curb appeal house to a home where we can stretch out and get comfy.  Won’t you come along with me?  I do this for you.  No panicking, this blog will always redirect you to my new home and if you click on any old links you might have saved or find on Pinterest, it will also take you to our new abode.  So, please be patient while I unpack and get all the furniture moved to just the right spot.

Right now, I am feeling quite nervous about the whole thing but tomorrow will hopefully go off without a hitch since I have hired someone to do the migration to WordPress (oh, you didn’t think I could do this by myself did you?).

Oh and the name…. is that what you were waiting for?  I guess I shouldn’t make you wait any longer.  After much thinking and then my sweet babies buying me the domain name for Mother’s day, my new name will be Farmishmomma.com.  I am still as Catholic as I have ever been but we felt that this name was a good fit and I hope you will think so too.

See you at the new homestead, no need to bring any baked goods or welcome home gifts 😉
